Nicholas Wyman to address labour market mismatch in California
Nicholas Wyman, CEO of Institute for Workplace Skills and Innovation, is taking his ‘jobs without people, people without jobs’ message all the way to California next year for a conference on apprenticeships.
Mr Wyman will attend the Institute for Apprenticeship, Training and Education Programs from January 18-20 at Rancho Mirage Palm Springs as a keynote speaker discussing the benefits of apprenticeships and their role in addressing the skills gap.
“What’s going on here, I believe, is a labour market mismatch, this is where employers can’t find the skills they need,” Mr Wyman said. His keynote presentation will address the burning questions of, “Why is this the case?”
Attendees will be invited to join in on the discussion which will look at the key factors contributing to the current skills gap, as Mr Wyman explores the need to debunk the ‘university for all’ approach.
